Hello! For those of you just now tuning in, this is the New G Singers 2008 tour blog, the "Written" word! Throughout the trip , this will be just one form of communication to "keep track" of what is happening on tour, the sights that we see, and how we are spreading God's word through song. My name is Brandt, and I will be the "editor" of this blog, but that doesn't mean that I will be the only one you will hear from. There will (hopefully) be guest writers, notes to home, and plenty of pictures. If you ever have any comments, suggestions, messages, or news from home that you would like related to the singers, feel free to either leave a comment on the blog, or email us at newgsingers@gmail.com. There are multiple people, both at home and on the road who are checking that e-mail address, so your email will hopefully be discovered within a few days of sending it.
Now with the news:
We have left on tour! After a short sendoff sermon at Ashland, we loaded the busses and went north to South Dakota! On the bus, we had our first social event, making nametags and introducing ourselves to members we might not know that well. While they might not know all of the members now, they sure will after two weeks close together on two busses!!! After driving past the "Muddy Mo" and plenty of rolling plains, we arrived rather uneventfully in Yankton, SD.
We had a great "informal" performance this evening for a very receptive audience, and can't wait for tomorrow's performance of our sermon in song, along with our evening performance in Mitchell, SD.
I hope to update this blog as often as possible, but the number one deterrent to my posting will be a lack of wireless internet. So I will try my hardest to seek out "hot spots" and keep you informed with…
